This is an in-depth explanation of the family/friend scam. A scammer will tell you their quitting or something and that they want to give their pets to someone trusted. They'll have you go somewhere before asking you to trust trade a friend to test your trust. The catch is that they'll make an alt account that resembles your friend and will have that account trade you instead of your friend. Assuming you think your trading your friend, you'll actually be trading the scammers alt your pets and inevitably get scammed by them. Be careful when you suspect something too good to be true

just got scammed, and today someone created an alt account with a username similar to mine. My cousin unknowingly gave my neon giraffe to this scammer, and that’s how I lost it. The scammer claimed he had cancer, which made me feel bad for him. He gave me a Mega Toucan, and I returned it to him. He told me to trade my cousin, which I did, but then my cousin ended up trading him, and I thought she was trading me.
I feel devastated. The scammer even reversed my account name from "3xar43x" to "3rax43x." Please be cautious and don’t believe anyone easily. If you want to trust your cousin, do so with care and awareness of potential scams.
